Bring my Emotional Support Dog to internship?
Kidding, but I can't believe these are a thing. Heard Bill Simmons on his podcast talking about seeing a family on his flight with not one, but TWO "emotional support" dogs with them on the flight
Have you guys seen anything like this?
Obviously I get that people need assistance dogs, but Simmons made the great point of how easily this could be abused by people that just want to bring their dog on the flight, apparently you can just your pet online? Dogs are great in bed. You just have to cover their paws with socks so they don't scratch you where the Lord split you!
That family was probably abusing the system to get their pets on the flight.
This is likely a benefit that is more often abused than it is used legitimately.
every pet-owner i know is abusing/trying to abuse this system. I'd guess 10% of those dogs are actual support animals
walking dogs for the blind/comfort animals for PTSD
There are therapy pets and emotional support pets. Therapy pets are the guide dogs, etc. that go through very strict training to get certified. For an emotional support pet all you need is a doctor's official recommendation that you need an animal to help you cope with a mental disability (anxiety, depression, etc.).
TBH I'm willing to pay a pretty steep price to get my dog on flight with me. Don't wanna leave him among luggage for 14 hrs.
I wish our interns would bring dogs in.
Our niece has a friend that got their dog classified as an "emotional support dog". She pretty much uses it to bring the dog into stores w. her.
Except for the small percentage of legitimate cases, this is a bunch of nonsense!!!
