Brooks Brothers - Too contemporary?

Is it just me or is Brooks Brothers becoming too contemporary?

I can be walking down the street and notice a guy wearing a tie from BB or shirt from there and know that it's likely from Brooks before even seeing the label.

For this reason, I'm starting to move away from it and towards Indochino for shirts. The only problem is that BB seems to make the best non-iron shirts. I hate ironing so the only reason for me to buy a BB shirt is for that reason. Other than that, who would choose a BB shirt over an Indochino?

Guest1655Is there much of a noticeable quality diff between Borrelli, HF, Zegna and Indochino shirts?

Indochino's prices are way lower than Borrelli, HF, Zegna. Personally, I see no reason for someone to pay that much for a shirt. Indochino or BB for me.

MindOverMonkeyBrooks brothers just makes such quality shirts. The no iron shirts are amazing and I agree that it's hard to change once you're used to having the non iron ones

The only beef I have is that Indochino shirts appear on the website to be more modern, (wider collar, allowing for a more full windsor tie). Gives a different look. More modern, youthful and less geezerish. But yes, the non-iron feature is what keeps me loyal.

very true. the quality is really nice and the sales they have make it an even better buy.

You can't go wrong with Brooks Bros. Buy the Golden Fleece and you'll never look wan't to buy another dress shirt other than Brooks Bros again.

Thomas Pink and Faconnable shirts are my favorite now. Used to be brooks brothers.

I sorta like Thomas Pink too but when I saw a woman pay over 500 for a few regular shirts in DC a while back, it sorta made me have second thoughts. Like are they really worth it?

Thomas Pink shirts are definitely not worth the retail price. I think BB quality is a bit better than CT, but I wish they had more spread collars.
