Buffalo Wild Wings Explores Adding Sports Betting

Wings. Beer. Sports. And bets? Buffalo Wild Wings is looking to get into the bookmaking game.

The largest sports bar in America is looking to add sports betting as a revenue stream to its operations. Do you guys think this is a good strategic move for Buffalo Wild Wings?

Although I have only been to Buffalo Wild Wings once, I personally think this is a great move by the company which can help enhance the atmosphere at the restaurant. The firm also noted that alcohol revenues have been down. I think this could create a more rowdy atmosphere that promotes drinking and gambling... a deadly combination.

Here is the ESPN article on the topic.

It's a smart move. With the SCOTUS ruling from May sports gambling is going to be the future, better make money from it from it sooner rather than later.

I completely agree. It's always better to be first in a movement than last, especially when it comes towards business ideas.

They're a sports bar, not a 5-star restaurant! Jokes aside, I honestly don't remember how their food is, but I don't see how one could mess up wings that much.

However, I think they are trying to change their stereotype to be a chill sports lounge (drinking atmosphere with sports betting and TVs like a Vegas sports book).

BWW wings are top fucking notch you philistine. Drench them in ranch and blue cheese and you've got a meal. Go to Europe if you want fine taste and charcuterie.

in it 2 win it

Their wings are microwave-tier, but so is the food of competitors and chain restaurants such as Wingstop, Applebees, TGIF, Chillies, etc.

I can't knock on them when there is a potential niche market that they are strategically readjusting for. Exciting stuff to say the least. From a personal standpoint, I still could never justify blowing $20+ for a medium size basket of wings while watching a game though.
