18 years of catholic school made me an aethiest.  I'll pull apart the bible with the best tho. (thanks Jesuits, I still put money in my HS coffers, btw)

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

Controversial

Sorry to hear that. Praying for you and that the world doesn’t influence your faith but rather you develop a meaningful relationship with our heavenly father.

What is an “aethiest”?

we're biological beings.  I give 60% odds we're living in a simulation and split the rest between they're being a god or not.  I'm just a nice person because life is easier.

Reason you hate religion is because you're gay. Which is fine btw -- you can bone who you want, I don't care -- but you're taking out your anger against religion because your gay and there are a lot of folks that don't like gay people. Which makes your pooping on religion kind of pointless since it's not coming from an unbiased angle, no offense

Moderate Catholic here, mostly because of my parents and my ethnic background. I like the theology (and am also really interested in Eastern Catholic churches), but I also like drinking beers and having extramarital sex like the next guy but I enjoy the religion overall.

I didn’t go to Jesuit HS, but have studied the Jesuits and thought about joining. I like the AMDG phrase and think of my life and each of its tasks glorifying God except in sin. So my whole life and everything I do is basically an offering, filled with many crosses.

I did go to Catholic middle school and two years of Catholic high school. I started kindergarten in Panama, but then did kindergarten again at a Catholic school and then to 8th. I did 9th and 10th at Bishop England HS, 11th at Wando HS and 12th at La Costa Canyon in CA.

After HS, I tried/failed USAF CCT training then graduated from The Citadel.

I largely believe in salvation for all monotheistic religions including those who simply believe in love and good works, without ever knowing words to describe their faith. I believe Jesus takes many forms in this world and some may encounter Him without knowing it or calling Jesus by name.

No, that's heresy.

John 14:6 (KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Jesus is one man, one God, who worked his way for everyone to be saved through him by faith alone. Other religions mandate works for salvation, which does not work. What Jesus said in John 14:6 should be pretty clear that:

1) Jesus is correct and therefore we can only earn salvation through him

2) Jesus is wrong and anyone can earn salvation without his crucifixion

If it's 2, then Jesus died on the cross for no reason.

Raised Christian but have had some exposure to Judaism as well so I'm not 100% in either camp. I would say I firmly believe in a god (I dislike the humanization of an concept which by all accounts would be beyond our comprehension) but am not married to any interpretation of a particular sect of either religion. I deeply agree with the idea that both the Bible and Torah contain a wealth of knowledge that should be both studied and respected, particularly the Bible since it is the basis for Western liberal ideals (liberal as in the founding fathers & natural rights, none of the woke shit).

Had never heard of these guys before, but I can see the merit of the movement. The two religions are heavily intertwined after all.

That's cool - me too. Although I struggled with my faith in my 20s. Who is your favorite saint? Mine is St. Teresa of Avila. I really like her book - "Interior Castle."

St. Christopher for now cuz I've been commuting a lot, I have a laminated prayer card hanging from my rearview mirror. I just need one of these seat covers and then I'll be complete:
