Can I take the CFA lvl 1 in my freshmen year?
I finished my 1st year of uni and signed up for my December lvl 1 exam... They didn't ask for any proofs or documents for enrollment requirements so I guess that means it is okay to take the exam even if your not in the final year of undergrad or had 4 years of experience?.. Will this be problematic in the future when I apply for the chartholder?
anyone who had taken the exam similar to my case please tell me your stories!!
Dude just wait to take it your senior year. By then, assuming you're a finance major, you will have learned most of the topics in class. For now, just read books about the industry, do well in school, and have fun being 19.
Yeah but I have already registered for the exam in December plus I am currently doing my military service for 2 years (that's why I considered CFA in the fisrt place to keep myself busy and educated)..
I am just curious if I will be troubled in the future for the fact that I sat the exam without the enrollment requirements. I heard CFA guys don't really check the requirements for lvl 1 exam but will they give you shit later when you apply for the charter!
Guess you only skimmed the Ethics section then
CFA Level 1 during freshmen (Originally Posted: 04/23/2016)
Hello! I am an incoming freshman, and I wanted to get my level 1 CFA out of the way quickly.
Does anyone know if there are any time limits when it comes to these exams?
To be clearer, do my exams become void after a few years?
I don't want to study hard only to have it void.
Thanks!
There is no time limit, once you pass a level, it will stay with you. However, they do require you to be in the final year of undergrad in order to enroll (or have some combo of full-time work experience and schooling, which I'd assume a freshman does meet), so you can't really get a jump start on it til senior year.
Go to the CFA Institute website and read up on the program requirements and all the other details.
