can you drop a degree (from double degree) after getting offer?

hi all, I recently received an IB summer analyst offer, and at the time of application & interviews, I was working towards a commerce + maths undergrad. unfortunately the maths subjects are becoming a huge challenge for me (to the point where I think I may fail a few subjects), so if I drop the maths portion of my degree, do I need to let people at the bank know (e.g hr etc) & will this effect my chances of getting a return offer? (internship hasn’t begun yet)
