Can't take NYC and it's covid hysteria. Texas is too ugly and flat. Where to?

What are the best banking groups in areas not off their rocker post covid?

Just visited family where covid isn't even a thing on peoples mind over holidays, back in a blue state and depressed af now.

Any good groups in Idaho, Utah, Montana, Wyoming Arizona etc?

Texas is the natural answer but the land is too flat and boring for me....

Boston is worse than NYC with covid lol. Mask mandate has be in effect since August.

I've honestly never been.  Maybe I should check out.

I don't care if people vote Democrat, I just want to be in a place where people are happy, smiling, and optimistic, not ocd germphobes and constantly talking about mandates, if its safe to have a holiday party, is it safe to gather in the conference room...just so damn depressing and there's a general feeling of doom and gloom I've never seen before in nyc.  The vibrant energetic energy is gone.

You should. Not really a conservative bastion, but the finance circle here definitely is. COVID is pretty much disregarded in every way + lower COL/taxes.

biden districts

Finance, professional services, and technology are centered in areas governed by Democrats.

Personally, nobody cared that much about COVID in NYC until the new variant hit, and several people I know caught it.  And if you ignore COVID after you or someone you know has it then that's ignorant imo.

California was built over 150 years by Republicans and moderate Democrats. The idea that the current progressive Left of the Democrat party would take credit for California's economic powerhouse beggars belief (Silicon Valley was a technology center for 40 years before the Dems took it over in the mid-1990s). All of those poor states in the SE were governed by Democrats from the late 18th to late 20th century and only recently (in the last generation) kicked out the Democrats from governance. It's going to take several generations for them to build up their infrastructure and economic power.

I thought Texas was all flat for the longest time and had the mentality that I would never live there for that reason. While it does not have the terrain of the Rocky Mountains, it's not all flat and has some diverse terrain. I'm leaving Chicago for same reason you're looking to get out of NYC and heading to TX, spend a year there to see if I like it. Spend some time in Austin and Dallas if you haven't already. The other cities I considered were Nashville and Charlotte but I want to be closer to the Rockies.
