Carlyle acquires Jagex

This morning it was announced that Carlyle has acquired Jagex, the publisher and developer of RuneScape. What does this mean for the game, its economy, and Venezuela?

For what it's worth, the company was already sponsor-owned. Insight bought a majority (55% I think) stake in 2012. 

Any comment about the history of monetization attempts in the game should begin exactly there.

I swear, half of the people you meet on any online forum born between 1985-1995 (roughly) have nostalgic stories about untold hours merching in W1 or W2 before the Grand Exchange, powermining, pk-ing, and clan wars.
