Chasing ghosts
A director once told me that chasing the next move in your career (ie. the next exit opportunity, the next position) is like chasing ghosts. You never really know where you will end up, so no need to stress yourself out about it now. I don’t think he meant this in a way of being completely ignorant about the next step, but in a way of just doing the best at the moment and doing what you enjoy while focusing on other things in life. As someone who likes to plan out everything, I find it quite difficult to proceed with ignorance or venturing in the dark so to speak. Although I see the wisdom in it. I think we live in a world where knowing your next step is very common and one might feel “behind” if they don’t know what position or company they wanna end up next. Especially when everyone else seems to know their next “ghost”

This approach can lead to a more fulfilling career path that aligns with your personal and professional growth over time.
