Chicago monkeys: where should I live?
Just got the return offer so will be working in Chicago starting next year as an An1, and wondering if anyone on here has advice (whether that is neighborhood, specific building, etc). Will probably have 2-3 roommates. Any advice is appreciated!
I would recommend living in Lakeview/Lincoln Park. Try to be as close to the lake as possible (east of Sheffield). Also, Gold Coast/River North would be solid options as well, but (to me) they don't have that cool Chicago neighborhood feel, though part's of Gold Coast are pretty neighbor hoody.
if your hours are going to be rough, worth it to live within walking distance of your office. West Loop and River North are great. within River North, the two buildings near the East Bank Club are great (Kingsbury Plaza and the other one I cannot remember offhand). East Bank Club is a great gym too and you can walk to all offices within the Loop very easily. Good luck and enjoy Chitown!
