Chicago Roommate(s) – Late Summer 2021

Anyone looking for a roommate(s) in Chicago? I was planning to live by myself but I didn’t mind having roommates in the past and figured I would throw a few feelers out. Current lease runs through 9/30, some flexibility to move earlier than that.

I currently live in Lincoln Park and would like to move a little farther south to Gold Coast, Old Town, maybe edge of Lincoln Park/Old Town. Would look at some places in Streeterville/River North. Biased against the Loop unless its near Maggie Daley Park/Riverwalk. Very biased towards living near/walkable distance to lake -  sorry Wicker Park bros. I would like to live near a gym or have a gym with a squat rack in the building. Walkable grocery store is a plus but not requirement. I have a car so parking is a minor concern for me.

About me: Mid to late 20s guy working in finance. I work in IB but am transitioning to PE in a few weeks. Fairly low key during the week due to hours (unsure what my new hours will be like…hopefully noticeably better but obviously not a 9-5 job), try to get a few workouts in during the week, happy hour now that things are open again, etc. Weekends – still try to be active with working out, love going to Cubs/sports games, drinking, hosting friends, going out, exploring different neighborhoods, trying to volunteer more, etc. Pre-COVID I would travel a good bit to visit friends and they’ll come to visit me from time to time.

Pretty flexible on a potential roommate(s), I don’t smoke and don’t really care if you do but I also don’t want to live in a dispensary. I tried to keep the common areas fairly clean when I lived with roommates but I’m not a stickler on that. I won’t get cranky over beer bottles or something in the common area after a night out but don’t want it sitting there for 3-4+ days. I am single but don’t care if you have a GF or whatever stay over periodically.

Price, somewhat flexible. Can get a pretty nice place for $2,500 - $3,500 (total) for a 2 bedroom in the neighborhoods I mentioned above. My upper limit is probably up to $4,000 for an absolute gem of a unit but not my first choice to spend that much on a 2BR. Open to have more than one roommate – lived in a “bro house” one-year post-college and it was a lot of fun.

Feel free to leave a comment or shoot me a PM with a social media link. I have some travel coming up but we can try to grab a beer if you are in the city already.

Thanks!
