CNBC Reporter Gets to Look at Porn

Sorry for the Click Bait...well actually I'm not sorry. Apparently AMZN unveiled Fire TV today and an astute CNBC reporter figured out there is a porn site that already bought the completely NSFW firetv.com.

The porn site, which is technically named Fyre TV, but apparently bought the firetv.com domain expecting people to misspell its name, has been around since 2008.

Obviously that was newsworthy-ish, if for no other reason than the whole EY rebrand debacle last year. In this case the reporter, knowing that this would give them license to look at the whole porn site, decided to make sure readers knew exactly what they could get on the site:

Subscribers are able to stream explicit XXX content directly to their TVs via Roku and other third-party set-top boxes.

Fyre TV has not updated its Twitter feed since last August and it has not made any corporate announcements for years, though it does seem to be updating its catalog with recent releases.

Just me or did this reporter go a little farther than needed to make the point of the article?

Either way...pretty funny way to rain on the news of the day from AMZN.
