The obvious power move would have been to jack the merchandise from your VP (while he was wearing it) with a rear naked choke hold or bash brother inspired shirt over the head approach and then force the socially awkward analyst in the corner to go get it dry cleaned for you. I'll give the first serious response. no, it's not okay, they clearly gave them out for free to people of a certain level. if you truly like them, ask your HR person how you go about ordering some for yourself. either they'll tell you or they'll say "oh I'll get you some, what's your size?"
but also, I think it looks very toolish to wear that stuff on a regular basis (sweatervest, polo, t shirt, etc.). perhaps a snow jacket, umbrella, coffee mug, I get that. Or, if a client gives you a polo with their logo, that's fine too, but I think it's a little weird.
