Company Swag, asking HR for Apparel?
Recently, I saw some of my VPs bust out company jackets and sweatervests. They look SIKK but apparently were handed out last holiday season.
1. Is it ok to ask HR to get some extras?
2. Would you guys wear company swag outside of work? The jacket is real slick.
Do it. Fifth Third sweater vest = pussy magnet
Hell yeah. Bitches be like "he a real banker."
I thought only HBS jackets get mad pussy and have mad swag?
The obvious power move would have been to jack the merchandise from your VP (while he was wearing it) with a rear naked choke hold or bash brother inspired shirt over the head approach and then force the socially awkward analyst in the corner to go get it dry cleaned for you. I picked up an old SAC Capital Vineyard Vines fleece on Greenwich Ave.
I'll give the first serious response. no, it's not okay, they clearly gave them out for free to people of a certain level. if you truly like them, ask your HR person how you go about ordering some for yourself. either they'll tell you or they'll say "oh I'll get you some, what's your size?"
but also, I think it looks very toolish to wear that stuff on a regular basis (sweatervest, polo, t shirt, etc.). perhaps a snow jacket, umbrella, coffee mug, I get that. Or, if a client gives you a polo with their logo, that's fine too, but I think it's a little weird.
side note: Van Eck has the best swag, http://www.vaneck.com/about-van-eck/of-ties-and-totes/
This reminds me of Asians wearing big high-end brand logos on their clothes in an effort to look rich and American
Asian-American here. This^
Don't forget to bring your banker duffel bag
So the consensus is to go ahead and send the email? I'll ask for two of each, starting with the umbrellas.
as in asking them to buy them for you?
