CPA score transfer

I feel like I post way too much in this group, haha, but it never fails me when google does!

The state I live in, and will complete my masters in, only requires 120 hours to sit for the CPA exam, but my goal is to work in Chicago (wheels are in motion for this as some of you know), and the state of Illinois requires 150 hours to sit. The problem is, I very much so hope to knock out most, if not all, of the exam before I start working, for obvious reasons.

I'm not sure if anyone has experience with similar situations, but does anyone know if my scores will carry over to the Illinois in a situation like this? Keep in mind, I won't actually be licensed in my current state, I'm just hoping to sit for and pass the exam in my current state, and then carry those scores over to Illinois and complete their non-Exam requirements.

Any insight would be awesome. I can't seem to find a solid answer.

Thanks, I will give them a ring, but after a little further delving, it looks like for scores to transfer to Illinois, I would need to have taken the exam under the same education requirements that Illinois has, i.e. with 150 hrs even if my state allows me to sit with 120, along with some AICPA ethics thing that I'm fairly certain my home state doesn't require.

That kinda puts a damper on my plans to take the exam while completing my masters. I guess I could try to cram it in after my masters and before I start.

There is a way my friend.. 1. Sit for your exams in your home state while completing your masters 2. Fulfill the experience requirement while working in Illinois 3. Obtain your license from your homes state 4. Get it transferred to Illinois after you meet the requirements

Most important part is passing the exams which this allows you to do as early as possible
