Creating a 3rd major political party

As we've seen in recent debates, many of the major democratic candidates who are in the running have moved so far left, they have distanced themself from the American population at large. On the other hand, some conservatives are not hugely favoring Trump but support him due to the fact that he appears to be mildly competent at this point.

With the way the political parties are headed do you all support the idea of creating a 3rd major political party. Specifically what would you want this more centrist party to have on its platform? Why?

Would need some structural changes, e.g. removal of first past the pole wins. We have other parties now but they don't stand a chance.

Imagine if there are 4 "real" parties, and 50% turn out to vote. Conceivably ~13% of americans could decide the winner. My suggestion would be also to have ranked choice voting to give people say up and down the ballot to make for a more substantive "mandate".

Overall, I support a third+ party system, but it will have its own problems.

Omg just give me anything less authoritarian!! I'd literally vote for a collectivist if they took a hard stance against the state
