Dark Souls / Demon Souls

Don't know how my controllers survived being thrown across the room after playing Demon's Souls.

My process of deciding if a RPG is worthy of being played: 1. Is it part of either the Baldur's Gate or Zelda Series? If no, then do not play. If yes, then play.

Played the first one and got my ass royally handed to me so many times. Looking into the second one but not sure which system I'm gonna get it for yet. The second one seems crazy because its just one huge world, I can imagine you running into areas that you're not meant to be in. lol

technically, all video games are role playing games, unless the main character is a sexless, socially-awkward teenaged male

I assume that means no love for dragon age or the witcher?

Super-stoked about dark souls. Demon souls was the first game in a long time that gave me a sense of achievement for killing a boss. Need to find the time for it though....

da2 was kinda ehh i liked the actio nrpg but wasnt as strategic/baldurs gatey as the first.

ive been playing it on ps3 with coworkers... there are factions now that you can join that alter your character n give u diff spell access

I beat demon's souls with relative ease, just bought dark souls on friday and shut it off after an hour. In that hour I would say I got 10 minutes into the game and I have lacked the encouragement to play it again after that.

I like mental challenges but seems a little ridiculous when the game is so difficult that you wonder if you are following the right path. From what I have gotten from it, I feel the developers thought the game's positive reception was a result of the unusual difficulty. I feel Demon's souls was great because of the "playability" despite the incredible difficulty level.
