Hi
I am a girl and from the moment I became interested in the field, I kind of started exclusively dating investment bankers. It has been great- they helped me a bunch with interviews and reviewing my CV, some even knew my interviewers. As I step into the field now, they appear to be kind of turned off by it, saying things like "if only you weren't doing M&A too". What could be turning them off?

No clue. I guess it depends on the person but like you said they work a million hours and now you’ll work a million hours. No time to spend with each other and will probably only talk about work, at least that’s what they might think.
I just came back to say that often times when someone goes anon and say they are a girl, they sound like someone trying to sound like a girl... or they sound like a bot. Oh and you sound like a hardo 15 year old.

After spending 100+ hrs/week of M&A bullshit at office, you don't wanna talk to your girlfriend about it outside of office hours. Maybe, since you're new to the industry you might be talking more about IBD with your boyfriend which could be annoying to him. The last thing a person wants is to have conflict of interest with their partner over some silly work topic.
