deep work / concentration

In the book Deep Work by Cal Newport, the thesis is that in the modern age the ability to sit at your task and grind (productively, efficiently, and with focus) is the key superpower.

How have you guys managed to get into that state? For me, as an ADD patient, this is really difficult to do. But I want to be able to. Any tips?

Also the book talks about developing your capability (and later passion) for a subject over time through deep work sessions. It's about forcing your mind to tackle the tasks it does not want to.
