At least 3 months. Up to 6 months to be comfortable doing most work yourself.
Allow yourself to feel stupid, free pass, until then. Just try to minimize small errors (make sure you caught all comments, double check formatting, no typos) as best you can
Others have answered your questions. My unsolicited advice is that now’s the time to ask the dumb questions. Don’t just do the work like a monkey, try to understand what you’re doing and why, and if you don’t, ask someone. If you do it in 6 months instead of now, people will raise eyebrows. It’s an underrated opportunity.
I'm a little over a month in and I feel like I have most of the basics down (particularly for one MD I'm pretty much exclusively staffed with, doing lots of similar pitches where I know the process and product teams we work with), but I'm struggling to move towards being a more independent analyst that my VP can rely on for time-crunch slides and reducing the amount of comments I need.

one month in and still feeling like a liability... i don't know dog shit, but i know in general whats going on.
I heard it takes like 2-3 months at least, I’ve been at my shop for 2 weeks and feel like a dumb fuck cause idk anything tbh
The curve is very steep but not super long. I got comfortable around the 2-3 month mark and became a jaded veteran by the end of year 1.
depends a lot on live deal exposure tbh; a whole year doing nothing but pitches is meaningless once you hit a live deal

If you had an internship, three months. Up to 6 if you didn’t. Also depends on how much help/guidance/resources you get from your group

Is it just repetition at this point?
