Curious question I had when I was on one of my insomniac late night searches through linkedin for people with a similar background as me who got into top MBA programs, I stumbled across a question; What are friends who drank almost everyday in Ugrad doing now? I was then, as if possessed like a mad man writing down the names of each and everyone of the people i remembered and to not much to my surprise not a lot of them were doing very well (to my standards at least) although there was one guy who broke into IB. ---Mind you this is all from a non-target---

I saw about 3 car salesmen in what many would consider a fly over state 1 guy working at an applebees 1 guy who says he graduated, but found out he actually dropped out after 6 years in college 1 guy in IB 1 in corp fin 1 guy works at a big retail store as floor manager 6 people who have no linkedin

I understand that this doesn't happen to many people at targets as connections can usually at least land them an interview, but these were people at non-targets.

Anyways, it became kind of sad really. I was relatively close to most of them, but never kept in touch because I realized I needed to get my life together back after Ugrad to which I have done somewhat. I tried not to associate myself with anyone until I was where I wanted to be. This now poses the main question,

Where are your friends who partied hard now? do you still keep in touch? And if so are they happy? or not?doesn't have to be in fraternity, but it is what initially posed the question in my head.

I can already assume some are very successful, but there are others out there not doing so well :\

The non target I was in was in a rural area so some of them stayed and got a job at a car dealer so they can still party at the college

Does the guy own an applebees, or is he a line cook or waiter?

Now that you opened up that can of worms. While looking for jobs to scrape by some $$$ I noticed something interesting. There are several smaller newer restaurants, and more established reputable restaurants that higher new prep staff and offer career advancement to be a line cook. I thought about the people who work at fast food joints and wondered why they don't take on these jobs as they become available. They offer more opportunity in the long run and you get to at least learn how to make food and eventually get to work in high paced kitchen environment.
