Deliverable from Boutique IB internship

I'm going into my junior year at a southern non-target interning at a boutique/lower mm investment bank based in the south (offices in all major us cities). The managing director I'm working under wants to me to come up with a "deliverable" that I can take away from the internship. He suggested creating a pitch book for a potential deal. Basically, he wants me to be able to point to this one deliverable or project during recruiting in the fall.

If anyone has been able to successful transition from a boutique/lower mm investment bank during sophomore year summer to BB/MM junior year summer, I'd love to hear what helped you during your interview process.

As an interviewer what deliverable/project would you be impressed with that someone could make during a investment banking internship?

I think the answer might be a pitch book, as my md suggested, but I'm curious to see if there are any other suggestions.

If anyone has any other comments on transitioning from soph. summer boutique to BB/MM junior year internship, I'd love to hear your story too.

Thanks!
