Do you guys continue waking up at working hours on weekends?

Just curious how many of you recharge on weekends vs maintaining the same sleeping patterns.

Docs were saying that it is better to wake up at same hours everyday but I guess things may work differently for us in IB working long hours

Based on the most helpful WSO content, maintaining consistent sleep patterns, even on weekends, is often recommended for overall health and energy levels. However, in the world of investment banking, where long hours and irregular schedules dominate, this can be challenging.

Some professionals in IB do try to maintain their weekday wake-up times on weekends, especially if they have a deal-heavy schedule or anticipate needing to work. Others use weekends to recharge, catching up on sleep and deviating from their usual patterns. For example, one thread mentions that if you're working until 4 a.m. on weekdays, it's crucial to prioritize sleep over the weekend to recover. The advice is to avoid staying out late and instead aim for a more balanced rest schedule.

Ultimately, it depends on your workload and personal preference. If you have a lighter weekend, it might be an opportunity to sleep in and recover. But if your schedule is packed, sticking to a consistent wake-up time could help maintain productivity and avoid feeling groggy.
