Do You Think This Is Anxiety?

I do envy people who can entertain a group with witty banter. It's not that I don't have a sense of humor, I can only do that with people I'm really close and comfortable talking to. I find it really hard to talk in groups, due to self-consciousness and worrying too much that I may say something wrong or offensive. So every time I'm with a group of people, I feel nervous and tense. do you think this is anxiety?

Feel you brotha... not sure what it's called but you're not alone in feeling that way

I don't think it's really anxiety. I think you're just being conscientious of not offending people. Some people are good at banter, but sometimes certain comments can be off color or turn others off by something they might have said. I bet after you get to know these people a bit more you're less nervous and tense because you better know them?

Have a couple drinks, it might ease the nerves at cocktail parties. Just don't drink too much - know your limits.

You made partner in accounting without talking to people? Are you like 50 years old?
