Does it bother you that someone removed you on Facebook?
I recently witnessed quite a scene between two people, one who had removed the other from Facebook. They hung out in the same circle but havent (from what I gather) properly caught up or had a beer or something in quite a while.
However, the person removed was quite annoyed and upset about being removed.
I was wondering whether people here on WSO get annoyed by that. Although, I find it petty, it would bother me if it was an actual friend or someone who I had a minor disagreement with and rather then being adult about it, removes me from their internet life, hoping that I would notice it.
Pet peeve anyone?
It's pretty annoying to have to friend people in the first place. I much prefer how twitter does it: follow, unfollow and no one knows.
That said, I haven't been removed by anyone... yet.
Facebook makes people sad. Fuck social media.
It bothers me that there is a wealth of info on this site and yet there is a discussion on people PMSing when you are de-friended on facebook....c'mon lol
Three of my ex girlfriends removed me but still talk shit about me IRL, and they think I don't know. I'm comofortable with this. Most of the time, it's because people are slimming down their contact list.....in my opinion, that's a mistake and they're isolating themselves, but what are you going to do?
I've booted exactly one person and they were so unbearable in every way that I can't say I'm sorry to have to had to do so. For the most part, facebook is just a good way to keep an open line between cool people / family / friends that you just don't get to see a lot. The only thing I really don't like is that my coworkers extend office crap to even the facebookz......so they may have to go as well if it gets out of hand.
I do it all the time, I use Facebook solely for personal use, so I generally keep my list around 200 people.
And if someone's getting their panties in a twist over a de-friend, well, they need to untwist their fucking panties.
^ completely agree. Never understood how one person has 2,000 friends. I'm lucky to have 10 really good friends. That said, agree that Facebook has become largely petty and a separate existence for so many people. I tend to remove those people. The amount of people writing letters to someone in their immediate vicinity (the dear guy sitting next to me on bus types) is out of control.
I keep co-workers away from Facebook. Nothing good comes out of it. Made the mistake once. Posted an article I read about some Israel attack on civilians somewhere and was attacked by a co-worker for being an Anti-Semite.
