Dr. Dre Detox looks like it finally might be dropping, but...

Not sure how many WSOers like rap, especially west coast rap (since most of you guys are in a NY State of Mind) it finally looks like Dr. Dre will release Detox after pimping his headphones and whatnot (my guess is that this is all part of an elaborate business scheme meant to simply increase his headphone sales).

The beats are nice on his leaks, but I'm kind of disappointed that he's still talking about smoking weed and that he put Akon on the track. Oh well, looking forward to this or not?

After hearing Kush and the other potential leaks I am not nearly as excited as I was..Why does he have to go mainstream like every other SHIT rapper out there these days? The Chronic 2001 was incredible, this just sounds like garbage. This is the shit that has kept him in the studio without releasing anything for so many years? I am fucking unimpressed.

Grab some Curren$y mixtapes, one of the few rappers still putting out decent stuff these days, he has good covers too.

First off, Jeff SB for the NaS reference. Second, I will believe in Detox when I see it. I have been reading/hearing stuff like this for close to a decade. When you consider that he didn't do most of the creative work on Chronic 2001 I am not really excited. Hate to be an old man, but hip hop has always been for and about the kids. Dre's getting up there in years, can't really say the nostalgia's that strong with me. If I didn't buy Cuban Linx 2, this will likely be a pass for me even if it does transpire.

I'm not excited about this album dropping, but I am excited Lil' Wayne is out of prison and I'm interested to see what Weezy has in store.

Regards
