Just let your deal teams know in advance. This is usually a complete non-issue. We work extensive hours and doctors offices aren't often open on the weekend.

Totally fine to step out for an hour or so, 8/9am or lunch are good but if you can only get midday/afternoon that is fine too. Just tell them you're going to the dentist, no one will care as long as you don't just disappear with no notice.

I wouldn't even try and book these things on the weekend, no use wasting your personal time on this type of stuff when it's fine to do at work

First, you’re asking a great question as I feel most of not all of us were thinking this at some point early in our career.

We all know that banks are ruthless, laying off days before bonuses, giving 0 or low bonuses to mid performers sometimes, but they are not dumb to a point they would risk a lawsuit if one of us couldn’t go to a doctor app. Tell your team in advance, they’ll have no problem with it, especially if you give a 1-2 week notice. Unless it’s at a horrible time, you’ll likely be able to miss that hour without having to make up much, or if you’re staffed on a live deal, you likely can get someone to cover you for that short visit (I’m sure your associate would be willing to help out. It’s not like you’re saying you don’t want to work on the model cause you have a date tonight and are asking him to fix it lol, it’s your health.

Bottom line, your team will understand you need to take care of yourself in that sense and no one will use it against you
