Educating Yourself

So, while looking up the courses I have left to graduate (and wanting to be able to graduate in two years), I realized I'm not going to come close to learning everything I want to (specifically math, economics, and french thus far). Thus, I've been looking for alternative methods to teach myself things I want to know. Google is my friend, and as such, I'll share with you what I've found...

1) The free online courses offered by universities such as Yale, MIT, and UC Berkeley are fantastic, BUT there is a very limited selection

2) A quick Google search will help you find a wealth of information on any number of subjects.

3) A lot of people take the time to build websites dedicated to teaching you a subject from start to finish.

Now I know I won't be getting quite the same education as an undergrad a HYP, but I have found that there are some solid online courses by no-name guys. Here's what I've got so far:

  • www.KhanAcademy.org is a great resource for Math, especially, but also has a few other courses. I actually found this through WSO and plan on using it to get caught up on my math skills

  • http://getyourecon.com/prin-gen.htm is a little bit wierd, going by the title "cooleconomics" with Professor Nigel Cool, but it looks like it has solid fundamental information about the subjects offered. Anybody care to weigh in on this site?

  • http://french.about.com/od/lessons/ss/checklist_2… I found after tooling around on About.com's French section. It seems to be a solid way to learn French, with a lesson plan laid out for you. It even includes audio clips so you can learn how to properly pronunciate French words. This may not get me to full fluency, but it seems like a great way to get started!

Do any of you guys have free online resources for learning about subjects you won't or didn't get the chance to learn about in school? I'd love to see a list of resources people recommend to help everyone better themselves!
