excel and ppt shortcuts for banking

hey guys, i'm going to start my summer internship soon. Do BB and middle-market banks use office 2007 or later version? wanted to make sure because I only know shortcuts for 2007 version? don't know much about 2003 shortcuts. thanks.

New vs Old Versions of Excel and Changing keyboard shortcuts

There is no industry standard for the version of Excel being used. That being said most firms probably keep the newest version of the software for improved functionality. As an example, the 2003 version of Excel did not have conditional formatting which is useful for parsing large amounts of data.

Most of the basic macro commands should be the same across the board. However, new features will mean new shortcuts to access said features. If you are missing a particular command you can always create your own custom command to suit your needs.

  1. Open word options
  2. Customize ribbon
  3. Customize
  4. Select Categories
  5. Select Commands
  6. Select a named command
  7. Assign the new shortcut but make sure the key combination is not already in use
  8. Finish by clicking assign
