False False Sense of Reality

I love how every few months an "evils of body image" before/after image or video surface to allow ugly women everywhere to feel solace in the fact that every woman is as ugly as they are and that the ones that are not, are simply wearing a 4 inch thick Ethan Hunt/Mission Impossible-style mask and body suit.

This video is pretty shocking. The woman in the beginning is not very attractive but by the end she's pretty smokin. I find two thing funny here.

1. 90% of the before/after transformation is from make-up. See below, the first pic is unphotoshopped, the only diff. is hair and make-up. So women of the world, I greedily snatch out of your clutches your excuse for being out of shape and unattractive. All of you wear make-up.

The next chunk of alterations is the actual decried body enhancement... namely lengthening of the legs and torso.. i.e., making her taller and slimming of her legs... which is akin to wearing heels.

The same smoke and mirror job this video highlights and makes women around the world feel a warm opiate buzz of contentment, is what us men are victim to on a daily basis.

2. The disingenuous nature of the video itself. Like I said hair and make-up is 95% of the transformation, yet by focusing 85-90% of the video on photoshopping they are purporting that the photoshopping is what makes these women look so unattractive. Whats more unhealthy than giving people a false sense of beauty, is giving people a false sense of normal... and telling them you shouldn't strive for something because what you see others accomplishing/doing is an optical illusion. (not talking about photoshopping now, for you slower ones)

Don't get in shape, its not actually possible, anyone you see in shape and healthy must be digitally altered.

I'm so nauseated by this constant need to coddle society.

There is a reason this woman makes a living looking pretty. Because she's prettier than you. You're just not as pretty, period. Deal with it. Instead they would rather hear "It's not that you're not pretty, its that what we consider pretty isn't pretty, and so you're not not-pretty".

This whole mentality is so pervasive in society.

Everyone is not created equal. Some people are smarter, some people are better looking, some people are more charming. There is absolutely no reason why an average woman should feel as pretty as a professional model.
