False harassment claims

I read a discussion here which basically said; A girl who worked in BBH partied with her MD and SVP every night. One of those night she went out alone with her MD and the MD made a move towards her and she declined and let her go home. The girl told the SVP about it and told him not to report it just yet. Later she sued the company for sexual harassment. Apparently both SVP and MD got fired and she got a quarter million dollars. I am almost always by the women's side on these issues but this seems unfair to me. Am I wrong? If she was going out with them every night why is it the companies responsibility?

Some people just love learning the hard way. Feel sorry the SVP though, no idea how he got caught

Absolute truths don't exist... celebrated opinions do.

I'm not sure where the issue is here. The fact that the girl is partying with her SVP and MD doesn't give the MD any right to make a move. I don't think this sounds like assault or even really sexual harassment, but I also really doubt we're getting the whole story.

The fact that the SVP's advice gives the strong impression that they wanted to cover the whole thing up doesn't help the MD (or SVP, obviously) either.

I'm just a little confused as to why you keep conflating the going out, and the "making a move," which are pretty self-evidently two very different things. Moreover it's the company's responsibility because (a) it's two company employees, and (b) a third employee is discouraging the aggrieved party from going to HR. In what way is this not the company's responsibility?

SVP didn't want to cover it up the girl told the SVP to not to report it to HR and then hired a lawyer to sue the firm. I honestly think she should have reported to the HR first but I believe she didn't because she only wanted the money. And screwed SVP

I misread your post. That being said... that means the SVP was, in fact, covering it all up. So again, he (I assume its a man) is inviting this on himself by covering for both parties.

Also, once again lets say it together, there is another side to this story that we're not hearing.
