Weight decreased from 456 to 180 lb... Pretty amazing. To be honest I didn't think it was possible to fast for 382 days only ingesting non-caloric fluids and vitamins. His first meal after the fast must have tasted amazing!
I find it difficult to get back down from 190 to 175-170 lb!
I've done something similar. I once lost 160+ pounds doing this with high protein shakes. What's interesting is that I belonged to a group that does this and the weight loss (long term) comes out to 1.1 pounds/day. This guy actually did a little worse than that. So he might have been better off taking in protein and preserving some muscle, which helps burn fat. On the other hand, I've gained the weight back, he hasn't, so there's something to be said for that too.
What I found interesting is there were some deaths attributed to when the person begins to eat again. I mean having the stomach basically vacation for a year and then BAM, back to work, might throw the system for a shock.
