Favorite and Least Favorite Exercises
What are your favorite exercises to do in the gym? What are your least favorite?
I think my favorites are pull ups or tricep push downs. Least favourite is definitely squats. Does everyone love the good old bench press or is the lifting game changing these days?
Favorites: Chest - Bench Press Back - Cable Rows Triceps - Triangle Bar Pushdown Biceps - Overhead cable curl Legs - LOL
Least Favorites: Chest - Is there a bad one? Back - Dumbbell row Triceps - Dips (shoulder pain) Biceps - Curls with straight bar Legs - All of them
Straight bar curls absolutely destroy my wrists
Same, that's why it's the worst. I was told to do forearms to fix it, but even with months of that it still hurts.
Walking on grass is great exercise but try barefoot.
favorites: kegels 12oz curls freemuffdiving hitting a sand wedge shirtless falling down stairs
least: standing in line being hungover in traffic using a pen with sweaty hands office toilet paper wipes, usually 3 sets of 10 has me bleeding like my cherry popped (might as well be sandpaper)
edit: thought of a couple more
cardio: dangling keys in front of a cat flexibility: stretching my neck/trying to be slick while looking at everyone's crotches (yes, men too. gotta know the competition) endurance: holding in shits while deadlifting/squatting. I think after these past 2 years, my sphincter could flip a tire.
I keep a pack of Costco wet wipes at my desk. Game changer. Like when I brought in a french press.
3 sets of 10 with office toilet paper would wear through a tortoise shell. A mere mortal could die.
A friend of mine falls down (stairs, the ground, wherever) so often she looks like Karlie Kloss. It's science.
leveraged curls
Favorite: any type of overhead press (push press, military press, strict press, DB press etc.) Least favorite: cardio
sprints out your mom's house when i hear the garage open
Favorite exercise: Goldstein's Mother
Least Favorite: Anything involving my legs
Least Favorite: Exercising
Most Favorite: How I feel after I exercise
Your mind is weak, and your character thin.
FILL THINE HORN WITH MILK AND SQUAT
What's a front lateral raise
i get you're making a joke. But just in case you didn't know he is probably referring to a front deltoid raise
Legs are the BO of the body yet all of your power in most sports come from the lower body and hips.
Just added in pullups. It is amazing how many people can't do 1. Pretty good measure of strength, and in fact you should be able to pullup weighted what you can bench(counting your body weight).
Favorites: Squats Deadlifts (one or two legged) Bicep curls Burpees Push-ups Least: Front and lateral raises (so hard for me and I drop down to an embarrassingly low weight on the front raises) Mountain climbers
Re: dropping weight on fronts/laterals: me too. Just remember, form>weight. Just use the max weight with which you can keep proper form, and gradually increase reps until you can grab the next heavier set of dumbbells, then repeat..
I have to constantly remind myself that if gains came overnight, everyone would be huge and ripped. Slow and steady wins, my friend.
Thanks. That's true. I'm always waffling between pushing as hard as I can and keeping my form perfect. I'm female so gains come even slower for me than males.
Faves: Deadlifts and any form of row
Can't stand close grip bench.
Favorite exercises: Back--Pullups Biceps--Chinups Chest--Pushups Triceps--Tricep Dips Legs--(Not necessarily gym) uphill sprints.
Worst exercises: Legs--Squats
In my experience, body weight exercises are forgiving in terms of stress on your joints. I used them a lot when tennis tournaments were in full swing. Weight training is also very effective and IMO, when properly used, will accelerate strength. Anyways, can't really fault any exercises except for squats. If you want to work on your legs, play tennis, basketballs etc.
