Finance jobs at the Fed
Has anyone here worked at the Fed in a finance type role? Tried searching past threads but couldn't find much substantial info. Any information regarding role type, comp, hours, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

Career Resources
Not sure where you're based, but most of the interesting/"prestigious" jobs are with the NY Fed as opposed to down in DC, just a FYI. That being said, the premier position at the Fed in DC (unsure about other branch banks, but I know some are more specialized [e.g. research at St. Louis]) is their research assistant program (https://www.federalreserve.gov/careers-research-assistants.htm). This is geared towards Econ undergrads that are considering to get masters/PhDs. All of the higher up economists in the Fed naturally have one of those, and it's basically a prerequisite since a lot of what they do is research when they are not "on the round", i.e. when they are not helping with FOMC decisions (unsure if there's a schedule or how that work is actually assigned).
However, the Fed in DC also supervises banks which is more regulatory but can be interesting (https://www.federalreserve.gov/supervisionreg.htm), they do stress-testing and things like that.
Here's an org chart of the DC based Board of Governors: https://www.federalreserve.gov/aboutthefed/files/board-of-governors-org…
To clarify when I say the Fed I mean the entire circuit of federal reserve banks based in the cities around the country not just DC.
My interests aren’t in economic research but more deal/execution based. Don’t these banks lend to other banks as well as other execution/deal type work ?
That would probably be more in the Division of Reserve Bank Operations & Payment Systems but that's more process-driven I'd guess. I'm not too sure otherwise. Other than NY, I would guess Chicago and SF branches are more active in that, and maybe Dallas/Atlanta too but I'm more familiar with the Board of Governors.
