Former MBA students, how many people do you actually stay in touch/meet up with?

Just out of curiosity, how many students from during a b-school program do people stay in touch with over the years on average? Also, has anyone known a student from your year without FB who stayed in touch well or is having an account necessary to stay relevant?

Poets and Quants had an article where it said that according to a study, the average MBA grad only stays in touch regularly with 2 people, 10 years after graduating. That seems about right actually. I really enjoyed my time in b-school, but MBA friendships tend to be a bit superficial and not as strong as college friendships. It's very much an artificial bubble where people go in super excited and drink the kool-aid.

As far as facebook I only know 1 person at my school who did not have an account, and she's a married Orthodox Jew, so yeah, she is basically shut off from mainstream society so she could observe her 613 mitzvaht and the other batshit stuff that they do. Basically, facebook is critical because a lot of social events, questions, news, etc., are posted on the b-school class group pages. So for instance, if someone is selling tickets to a concert, he will post on the group page. Also, every section/cohort/cluster has their own whatsapp chats.

Surprised to hear those numbers. I knew quite a few without FB accounts at my school (different type of crowd I guess) so I sort of decided not to use it as well since most communication within my section was with whatsapp. I had an account that I used prior to b-school but kept it deactivated. It was more like going against the mainstream and I really never liked using the site anyway nor care about seeing people's baby/pet/stupid photos. Are you finding the site useful post-MBA? That's what I'm wondering.
