From a WSO monkey's girlfriend: I love you all & Happy Valentine's Day

To all of the guys: Today's Valentine's Day and as a girlfriend of one of the monkeys, I just wanted to say that this is a great community, I love you all and you guys are awesome. I don't know if anyone has posted anything like this but I'd like to share some thoughts from a semi-outsider's perspective. A little bit background on myself: I'm 23, working but not in finance, and have dated this big WSO fan for more than two years. My bf is about my age so needless to say I've observed first-handedly the excruciating recruiting process in ibanking (for both SA and FT), the crazy working hours, the endless networking emails and calls, the intense interview preparation, the rejections and disappointment and the will power to keep trying. At first I wasn't very happy with all of his time spending on networking and interview stuff (a girl wouldn't be too happy when she had her sexy lingerie on but had to listen to a phone call about how the fig group was structured), but then I started reading this forum and I fell in love with it. This is a great community where everyone shares valuable information and encourages and motivates each other. In addition, I'm glad I took the time to learn about this industry and to understand what my bf was doing. This may sound cheesy but I'm glad I'm dating one of the WSO monkeys, for you all share the same great qualities to some degree: you are courageous, hard-working, motivated. You guys are great. As a girl, I still complain to my friends and family from time to time when the conversations I have with my bf gets limited to PE recruiting and David Einhorn, but I still love you guys. I just want to let you know (especially those who are still struggling through internships, recruiting, etc) that whatever you're doing is great, keep working hard, keep that motivation and drive. I support you, you're awesome.

To my dear boyfriend: now I have your attention, can you give me a call when you're free?

just kidding. I just wanted to say I love you, I support you, I don't mind you talking about David Einhorn, I'm willing to watch every PE webinar with you, I will pay attention when you talk about distressed debt, I won't say no if you want to buy another monitor, and I'll always be there for you.

Happy Valentines Day everyone!

That's really gay. Or, as a female would say, that's really sweet.

My gf thinks WSO is fucking gay. I call shenanigans.

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.
