Funniest / Weirdest Thing To Happen In An Interview?

Hit me with your best stories!

I work in Credit and in looking for the next move in my career, this happened: During a screening interview for an incredibly prestigious-sounding position (for me), I was forced to hang up on Hector, the manager of whatever the hell this role really was. The role, as had been described to me per the website, was a VP-level Credit Officer, approving memos and deals of Jr Analysts. What turned me away were these three quotes that my guy Hector laid on me:

  1. "We dont include everything in the online job description just so that we can get a view of the actual talent out there". (Okay, I thought, sounds sus but I guess I'll let it slide since companies cant include everything in the description, logically speaking.)
  2. I promise you this guy literally said "its basically boiler room with a sprinkle of glenngary glen ross" (Great movies. Shit career move for me.)
  3. "This is a bit of a jump from your credit background to this field"

At that point I think I muttered something like "Jesus H" and hung up, never to hear back. I learned my lesson to do more research before applying anywhere else.
