Generation Theory

This is a personal interest of mine. I've posted a link to the wikipedia page. I know hindsight is 20/20, but I think a lot of what these guys say makes sense. The thing I stuggle with believing, however, is the fact the my generation, the millenials, falls under the "hero" generation in the cycle.

I have high hopes for my generation as the average american today has more information at their fingertips than any president did before the Reagan administration, but I highly doubt that we have the balls to tackle the significant problems in the world today.

Wondering if anyone else has any opinions/insight on the matter.

Am I understanding this right? An awakening is when we suddenly pull our heads out of our collective ass and put an end to this PC/nanny state/save the whales bullshit that's more and more prevalent every year?

This was great for the time it was created in. I get the feeling that these generations are going to become a lot more condensed than they have been, though. Also, don't think it's quite as cut-and-dry as the theory seems, of course that's how it is for just about anything.
