Getting drug tested after being acquired

Is it normal for companies to drug test the employees of the company they acquired? My company was acquired a few months ago and I feel like smoking socially and maybe a bit recreationally again. I passed my initial drug test when I joined my company, but now that we have been acquired I'm kind of sketched that this new company might drug test us. However I also wonder why would they want to fire the employees they acquired our company for. Has anyone gone through anything similar? Thanks in advance.

When we merged the leadership team assembled new guidelines and "mixed" the two cultures regarding background checks. However, this was for NEW hires, not existing ones.

It depends.

I've been in in an acquisition where I was drug tested and one where I was not. I think that they have a lot of leeway. Don't play with fire. (I don't smoke in the first place, can't stand the taste. Edibles are nice though.)

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

"namlaera" isn't mj legal now?

Not Federally or in NY. We also don't know what the OP is smoking, which is why I left my response generic. For all we know, (there's a tiny chance) he's talking about smoking crack.
