Girls: Boutique vs. BB vs. PE vs. HF

OK, so in your experience as a banker/S&T/whatever, which group of the below do you find is able to pick up a girl the most easily based purely on telling her where they work?

Elite BB (GS, MS, JPM) Elite Boutique (Gleacher, HLHZ, etc.) PE (Blackstone, TPG, KKR, etc.) HF (Not necessarily a specific one, just saying "I work at a hedge fund")

I am a college junior so I have no experience with this sort of thing. Not intending to make any career decisions on it, just curious.

A follow up question, do girls have any sort of idea of the hierarchy present in banking (i.e. do they know GS > CS)?

The guy who doesn't try and impress a girl by telling her where he works. Just buy expensive clothes, and let them wonder where the money comes from. Girls like mystery, and more importantly, most girls don't care about finance.

Men are so simple and so much inclined to obey immediate needs that a deceiver will never lack victims for his deceptions. -Niccolo Machiavelli

No girl knows any PE firm or elite boutique. HF might be a good one but as pointed out only douchebags brag to girls where they work thinking that will get you anywhere (might as well just tell them you make such an amount of money per year, might be more effective).

Even if they know the name of your firm, they usually have no clue what you actually do there, so dont worry about that.

I hope this is a joke thread?

In case it isnt; no-one in the real world knows any finance firm other than the top BBs.

If you want to impress girls get a job in GS ops. You can tell them you work at GS and actually have time to interact with females.

also women are irrelevant, chosing your firm to impress some bimbo is utterly r*tarded

JamesCaesarYou sir, are a fucking nub.

I am relieved that the others think OP is retarded. want to let you all in on the female brain: if i am at a bar looking for a fun night, this is the general heuristic: impossibly good-looking struggling actor/artist > good-looking grad student > older wall street guy (but these are harder to find on random nights out) > first-year analyst ..

What about an impossibly good looking first year analyst?? :o

The only 'finance' job I can think of that might actually impress a girl is if you say something like, "Yea, I work in the Front Office for the Yankess." Other than that, no chick will care.

You should be worried if a girl suddenly became interested in you because of your profession... This will only attract gold diggers, shallow fame whores & unambitious slizzuts

You're setting yourself up for a life mysoginy and loneliness

groundbreaking piece of redundant logic right here. I'm sorry you are such an ugly fuck.

The only girls who would know would be girls in the industry or girls with friends/brothers in the industry who they ask about that. Most random girls will just know the BB and that's it.

Honestly though, women are not as attracted to money as is commonly believed. Just that having a lot of money often gives men confidence; this is much more attractive than being able to buy her random crap.

^^ truth.

It's not the money, it's the confidence/way you carry yourself/good taste. But too bad a lot of that doesn't come without money...

I'm personally more drawn to guys who are ambitious and career focused. Sounds weird but, I can't stand a guy who values a relationship over his career. Damn I never knew guys could be so clingy...

I don't accept sacrifices and I don't make them. ... If ever the pleasure of one has to be bought by the pain of the other, there better be no trade at all. A trade by which one gains and the other loses is a fraud.

A lot of the smoking hot girls I know (9s/10s) don't give a shit about being rich. They want 3 things:

1) Security- If you have a respectable job that pays the bills, you're fine 2) Feel safe around you 3) Actually be able to see you more than once a month

Are there girls that are attracted to guys solely because they have a big house, five cars, rent charged, comin up in the world and dont trust nobody (C Hill)? Yea, but they're a tiny minority. Most of them just want to be comfortable, economically and socially.
