As I stated about a year ago in a WSO conversation about Groupon and Living Social, there are virtually no barriers to entry in this marketplace. I just signed up for Google Offers in Washington, D.C. and the delivery system, visual platform and quality and quantity of offers blows away the competition. Google whiffed on Google + but with Google cloud computing, Gmail, Google Offers, Droids, etc. it looks like Google really does have the highest quality personnel in the business. It's an impressive company.

I like how Google is able to encroach on almost every profitable tech venture, you got the Android phones vs. Apples phones, Google+ vs. Facebook, and Google Offers vs. Groupon

ah good point I forgot they were competing on browsers as well but I meant a operating system like Windows 7 or Apple OSX Lion

Interesting, I never knew there were a Chrome OS. I admit I was thinking of a mass retail OS and didn't think that Google had an open-source OS like Linux. Do you think it'll be compete against MS or Apple?
