I would make a case for Google being the tech company ever.... because if you consider anything done on the internet that has to do with some kind of search runs through google.

I'll measure greatness by staying power and profits. In both respects Google is still eating at the kids table. (You may join the adults when you crack the top 10).
Android originated from the Linux kernal, Google has some heavy competitors it has to duke it out with like Apple, IBM, and Microsoft. I think IBM will pose a great threat to Google regarding its search functionality in the future. Microsoft is also nibbling away at Google's market.
I would choose to work to Apple over Google

Also: they funded Android's developement to current status, but did not create it outright. They are to Android as Al Gore was to DARPANET. Wooooo, we could have some fun with this one: anyone want to open a post on this?

I don't know what's with the FB orgies...friends in tech tell me they pay less than Google and the people there are crazy dedicated and will work insane hours. Also you are coding in PHP which is a god awful language.
Don't think the exit ops are good either, since most good firms (Microsoft/Google/APPL) do very little coding in PHP.
