Got in Big 4... Now MBA

Thanks to some hard work and help from all you accounting I broke into the big 4 (Deloitte/PwC) now lets start to break into a top MBA! According to research and posts on this website, the optimal path for me would be:

audit-->TAS--> MBA/IBD

Clearly I have a uphill battle to go through so lets start with step 1 which would be breaking into TAS. Now sticking it out for a year or two as a top performer and networking is generally regarded as the best way to break into TAS. Also I'll be sure to talk to headhunters and recruiters from many TAS groups. My question about this would be how do I become a top performer? Obviously there are things I can do such as asking for more responsibility, working long hard hours, asking the right questions, networking, etc. But since auditing is pretty much doing the same work how can I better separate myself from my peers? Being a top performer is going to be the first thing I have to do which is why I'm concentrating on that.

So do you all think this is a good basic path to go on if I want to break into a top MBA? What else should I be concentrating on to be the top performer?

Also worth noting is I should have my CPA done before I start (next fall) and DO NOT plan on taking any part of the CFA exam. I have other interests such as entreprenuership but I'm keeping my options open and want to know what I need to do no matter what path I choose.

Thanks
