I'll be moving to Charlotte in June - I am still looking for apartments/condos within walking distance from the One Wachovia Building.

I am definitely open to any advise/ideas/suggestions

Emailed Leah last week, she said we will get details for the sell day within the next week or so. As far as location I was under the impression that everything is still "platform" and that is still in the category as TBD along with Groups. Does anyone know the defnitive start date, and if all training will bein Charlotte and if so for how long before we go to our specific locations.

Thanks. I have no idea when the start date is, but for training I was under the impression that it would be partially in Charlotte and potentially some of it in San Francisco (Well's HQ) -- but I'm not sure.

Let me know when Leah gets back to you. So I got SIG, Financial Products, Charlotte. Is this where you will be or is that subject to change? (California Dreaming).....

Not sure what this year is like, but I know in past years, incoming Analysts arrived in Charlotte on Thursday night and there was some sort of dinner/drinks event with people from each of the groups. Think of this as the fit/personality test. This is also your chance to get some candid feedback from current Analysts in the group.

Friday is a marathon day starting fairly early in the morning. Each group will rotate through and tell you why you should join their group. They'll talk about deal flow, exit opportunities, senior banker backgrounds, group culture, etc.

Remember that they are SELLING you on their group, so do your own research and don't just believe everything you hear. If someone tells you they "worked on" some high-profile deal, drill down and ask what their actual role was (i.e. bookrunner, lead advisor, co-manager, etc.). You DO NOT want to join a group where all they do is pitch and pitch and pitch.

After that, you rank the groups in order of preference. The groups then get 4-5 people together and go through the resume book, discuss any experiences with the candidates during the interview/sell day process and rank the incoming Analysts using some numerical scale (i.e., 1=Want Them, 3=DO NOT Want Them).

So BananaStand, do you get opportunities to talk with people from all groups or is there a way to narrow it down to the few groups you're interested in? Basically, how do you spend the most time getting to know the people in the group you're most interested in (I don't want to get stuck sitting at a dinner table with bankers in groups I'm least interested in..). Thanks for the info though - that's helpful since I still haven't gotten any more information from anyone at Wells regarding Sell Day

Anybody looking to move to Charlotte in June? I'm looking at 2 bedroom apts uptown with a roommate...let me know if you're interested.
