Has anyone been to Innsbruck (Austria) or Zermatt (Switzerland)?

My travel agent has recommended I check out Innsbruck (Austria) and Zermatt (Swiss) as part of my upcoming Euro trip in January. I told him I am looking for a place that best caters to backpackers / parties / ski slopes, in that order.

Would love to hear about your experiences in either place if you have been. Cheers

Agreed. Innsbruck is great. Beautiful town, very quaint, lots of nature. Go! Never been to zermatt but heard good things about the skiing and food.

Innsbruck is a fun, beautiful college town with lots of partying and lots of skiing. Zermatt is more laid back less for the party type.

Right. Thanks for the replies guys. I might do a week in both. One for skiing and one for partying.

Would you recommend any alternatives to the above though?

Cheers

Courchevel, Gstaad and St Moritz is where Europe comes to play. Best spot for partying is Les Caves in Courchevel 1850.

Aspen? You must be joking...

Lausanne is probably the most beautiful place ever.

If you are looking to party: think about Krakau. nobody will ever recommend it if he has newver been there but it is just insane.

sorry didnt see the skiing part ;) gstaad or st moritz if you got your money up otherwise it will sux. believe me
