Have You Abandoned Your Life To Play Classic WoW Yet?

Wow, Classic WoW is back. You can band together with a ragtag bunch of misfits to take down Hogger, spend a year leveling to 60 while passing the time talking shit in General, and then team up with those same misfits to take down Onyxia?? Wow.

Players have been asking for "Vanilla" servers ever since Burning Crusade came out like 12 years ago. What expansion are they on now? It's like the Fast & Furious movies. I've so lost track.

Blizzard would argue there's no demand for Vanilla servers. 'you guys complained about all this shit when it was live; now you want it back?' Meanwhile, millions of players played on private Vanilla servers and Blizzard lost money in potential subscriptions and in pursuing all kind of legal action against said servers, which never amounted to anything because good luck serving someone in Romania you fucks.

I was a straight up WoW addict from like the ages of 12 to 16. Like 16 hours a day shit. Shit was dope. Had a few accounts. Few got banned. Sold a few. Shit like that. Took a few years off. Started playing on private servers for nostalgia. Sank a lot of time into that on some late nights when I was like 20 as well. Still got an account on Warmane. Never log on. When you fuck around with private servers, there's always the risk they decide to shut your server down and migrate your toon to another expansion or sometimes the whole server just goes under. Shit like that.

But anyway, Blizzard (ATVI) finally launched Classic WoW on their 15th anniversary. People are going nuts. Subs are through the roof. Becoming an adult MMO recluse was always one of my backup plans, but it's more tempting than ever right now. I'm just scrolling Classic WoW Reddit in a nostalgic haze. Like wow physical world, maybe we part ways for a bit.
