Really not worth it. As someone who does a fair amount of endurance based things, I recommend sticking to simple, quick carbohydrate sources like glucose and fructose. I almost stopped buying gels entirely because you just don't get the same bang for buck as things like dates or raisins (great for cycling, a bit less optimal for running). If you struggle eating solids during runs, I would stick to either super natural gels with minimal ingredients or a homemade glucose - electrolyte drink. I put the juice of 1 lime in 500ml of water along with about 5 blended dates, 2 tablespoons of maple syrup and a pinch of salt. Goes straight to the dome.

Yeah I love dates and maple syrup. I usually take gels on long workouts (Clif Gel Expresso 100mg Caffeine). I am very curious about this Ketone thing and if Whole Foods has it, I might try a shot. I'm more curious about the neuro (brain) effects if it has super mental clarity. I gotta know.
