House Health Bill Slaps 5.4% Tax on Top Earners

this (obviously) doesn't affect me personally but why do democrats resent the wealthy and think of them as a slush fund for their pet projects?

Most of the 1MM+ in AGI own small to medium sized businesses and employ people- a far cry from the popular image of Wall Street "fatcats" and corporate law partners. That said, senior people on Wall Street and law have invariably had to work and sacrifice a lot to get there and still work a lot to keep their jobs- I certainly don't resent their success.

750,000+ for the rank and file at Goldman Sachs however... hahaha

It really is disgusting isn't it. I thoroughly despise the democrats and their communist ways. To be honest though, all this does is encourage tax avoidance and emigration.

Just look at the UK, all the high earners are leaving ASAP and the UK is being left with nothing more than low income drains on the economy. It's truly lol worthy but I can't wait to lol at all these moronic Obummer supporters.

Just be happy knowing that the rich will always find a way to avoid tax.

I don't really see these idiots lasting more than four years. Worse comes to worse Geneva has a solid banking industry.

Democrats in this country are pretty conservative compared to euopeans, so be thankful.

I'm not a supporter of either side but I think you guys are being quite hard. It might encourage emigration but I do not think it will make a substantial difference (I would like to see statistics on this -rather than opinions). They might be punishing the wrong people in the AIG case but it's only to set an example.

and I have a feeling they'll be around for more than just 4 years...
