How does capital gains tax actually work on investment portfolios?
Say I have built a portfolio with post-ISA returns of £10,000,000 in the UK. When I withdraw this, I pay 20% (£2 million).
What if I move to the UAE for a year and withdraw it then?
What if I set up a holding company in the UAE to act as an investment manager, and move all assets there?
What if I have a mix of assets bought in the UAE and the UK - will only the assets bought in the UK be taxed?
