How much does your starting salary predict your income 10 years later?

Thinking about my career, I'm really interested in this topic.

Don't know if there has already been enough academic research done on this, but what's your real life experience?

From people I’ve known, it usually doesn’t for the very aggressive/ go-getter/ constant improvement personalities.

One that comes to mind started off at $45k a year. Two years ago he made $600k, that’s roughly 9 years after his starting salary.

Neither. Networked like crazy, made a jump from $80k to $300k in one year. Grew from there.

Real estate. Ended up as a VP. Don’t wanna disclose more because it’s not me and I wanna be respectful of other’s anonymity.
