Deleting the social networks is a great start, but it will take time to retrain your brain if you've spent a good amount of time on them. The body operates under the SAID principle (Specific Adaptation to Imposed Demand), so you need to consciously practice staying focused by first and foremost, noticing when and what distracts you. When you have a good idea of what those distractions are, you can start to remove them or actively retrain the brain, as it sounds like you have already begun to do. Keep it up!

Read "Hooked" by Nir Eyal for a fuller picture of the brain situation when it comes to apps and plenty of other regular facets of daily life today. Crazy stuff!
